Jade (she/her/hers) is a student intern at Bloom: Child & Family Therapy. She is currently pursuing her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the Ohio State University with a focus on child and youth services. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts’s Degree with a double major in Psychology and Early Childhood Education from Spring Arbor University in Michigan as she went there on a softball scholarship. She has played many sports growing up and is very passionate about supporting the well-being of athletes. Jade has experience and a focus towards working with children, teens and families experiencing anxiety, attachment, confidence and self-esteem issues, emotional regulation, family dynamics, stress, social skills, school-based concerns, and sleep difficulties.
Jade’s experience comes from working as a behavior technician for children diagnosed on the spectrum and working as a teacher’s aide/assistant at a few different elementary schools. Jade uses an approach that best fits the child or teen whether that is CBT and talk based therapy or more play and art-based approaches. Jade is down to earth, calm, and genuine when working with clients, but she also mixes in humour which makes it easy for clients to feel trusted, comfortable and safe in the therapy room. Jade is passionate about reaching the family’s therapeutic goals and ensures sessions remain focused towards them.
During Jade’s spare time she loves to spend time with her family, walk her dog, coach girls’ softball, watch Netflix and bake lots of treats! She is dedicated to learning more about this field and looks forward to getting to know you!
