Katrina Chahal (she/her) is a Registered Social Worker who holds a Master of Social Worker degree from Wilfrid Laurier University.
She has experience working with children aged 3 to 18 and their caregivers. Katrina strives to provide service that embodies anti-oppressive, trauma-informed and collaborative approaches.
Katrina’s expertise is parent-child relationships, anxiety, self-esteem, depression, emotional regulation, school-based concerns and individuals who are neurodiverse.
Katrina believes caregivers play a vital role in their child’s social and emotional growth, especially in a child’s early years. She. uses a variety of approaches in therapy and believes in being flexible to meet her clients needs.
Drawing from various modalities to meet her clients needs, including play, art, cognitive behavioural, narrative, and emotion-focused therapies. Katrina also uses a relational lens by using parent-child dyadic sessions to help parents attune to their young child’s cues to foster a strong parent-child relationship.
In her free time, Katrina enjoys spending time with her dog, Perry, reading, crocheting, and, baking.
