Olivia is a Registered Social Worker who holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, specializing in Children and their Families. Olivia also holds a Bachelor of Honours Arts double majoring in Sociology and Legal Studies and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Waterloo.
Olivia’s passion is for helping children cope with difficult feelings or experiences, while teaching them life skills essential to better mental health and overall wellbeing. Olivia’s expertise is in working with children experiencing issues with anxiety, self-image, emotional regulation, school-based concerns, sleep concerns, and social difficulties. Olivia also enjoys working with neurodiverse children with ADHD/ADD and autism.
Olivia believes parents are essential supports in helping their children’s mental health long term. Olivia works closely with parents to help them develop skills and knowledge specifically tailored to their child to help the family thrive as a whole.
Olivia primarily uses play and art based approaches to working with children. These expressive therapies coupled with her certification in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy with Children and Youth creates a unique therapeutic process that she individualizes further for each child and family. Olivia is also trained on Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Techniques and in Adverse Childhood Experiences and Resiliency.
Olivia builds a strong therapeutic alliance with her clients based on trust and respect. She creates a safe, warm, and welcoming environment where both parents and children can thrive. As part of Bloom’s caring and enthusiastic team, she ensures all clients feel confident and trust the process of therapy.
