Fiona is a Registered Social Worker and holds a Masters of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier. She is also a Certified Play Therapy Supervisor. Fiona is also a guest lecturer for Wilfrid Laurier in the Child and Youth Studies program
Fiona has expertise in the area of child trauma and attachment. She holds a Children’s Mental Health Certificate from Wilfrid Laurier. Fiona has completed Theraplay ® Level 1. She is also trained in EMDR with additional training in providing EMDR to children.
She uses a variety of therapeutic modalities including play therapy, EMDR, CBT, Narrative, Mindfulness, Theraplay ®, and Family Systems.
Fiona has over 20 years of experience working with children and their families in various capacities. Fiona has a passion for working with children and their families in supporting them on their journey to wellness. She believes that the most important part of this journey is the therapeutic relationship and creating a safe place for the client to begin their journey. Fiona uses a trauma informed and strengths based approach in working with all clients. Fiona is committed to creating a warm and compassionate environment where her clients feel safe and empowered.
